Spring Into Action Class

Kingfisher Top and Barkly Skirt

With spring just around the corner, we will be starting to think about what’s in the summer wardrobe. So here to help you get started are two new styles added to The Stitchery class timetable.

The Kingfisher Top from The Pattern Revival has become a favourite top of mine in the past few months. You can make it short sleeved or long sleeved with a ruffle if you want - see The Sewing Revival for more images of different views

What I love most about this top is that its super beginner friendly, the main body is made with a stable woven fabric so its easy to sew, but you get to add a rib neckband and sleeve bands, just like you would on a tee shirt.

Next up is The Barkly Skirt from In the Folds. Again this is another staple in my wardrobe, I made one and then instantly made another.

The Barkly skirt is a paneled A-line skirt with pockets and a range of interesting and fun to sew details. View A of skirt (as pictured right) has a shaped waistband, slanted pockets that are inset in the side panels and a hem facing. Or you can choose to drop the waistband for a waist facing add patch pockets and side splits - see In the Folds for more pictures of different views.

Both styles feature a center back invisible zip for a clean finish.
