Kids Beginners Class

Class Details
$250 - 4 weeks (7 hours) - This price includes all the materials you need for the evening.
Classes are designed for kids 8yr+
We have three fun projects to make over the four weeks, a nice wee book bag to start, then we move to a patchworked cushion cover (cushion inner included) and then we are making aprons, with hopefully some spare time to make a scrunchie or two. You will learn how to sew on a sewing machine, sewing straight seams using the recommended seam allowance, how to edgestitch and topstitch, and how to finish seams using a zig zag stitch
SKILL LEVEL:
This class is suited to complete beginners
Project One:
Book Bag
The Book Bag is a nice easy project to start on, after learning how to use a sewing machine and doing some practise stitching, we will then start the tote bag. Here we will sew seams using the recommended seam allowance, and finish our edges with a zig zag, and at the end of the class you have completed your first sewing project to take home.

Project Two:
Pathchwork Cushion
The patchwork cushon is a great next step project, in this class we get to pick nine pre cut squares out of a huge bag of squares and assemble them into the order you want your cushion to look, we then utake the skills we learned from last week sew all our squares together to form the front of out cushion, then we add the backer pieces and its done, and you get to take home a super cool patchworked cushion.

Project Three:
Apron
Everyone needs an apron right?
This year I have switched up the last project to make aprons.
These are a super fun way to expand your sewing skills into a useful garment you can use at home.
First we cust out our aprons and pockets, then we start to construct, adding pockets and henmming teh edges before threading the tape to make the neck loop and straps.
Lastly we pick an iron on patch to apply to the top pocket.
